We are excited to announce that we have planned a series of support meetings for our resource parents, featuring valuable guest speakers. Additionally, we will be hosting a support group meeting specifically for foster youth.
To make these meetings accessible to all, we will be offering both virtual and in-person attendance options. You can join us every third Thursday of each month from January to June and September to November in 2023. Our chosen venue for these meetings is the Trinity Episcopal Church in Red Bank. The meetings will run from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
If you would like to attend, please register by emailing Liz at lizg@weareloved.info.
If you will be attending in person, please enter through the White Street entrance and utilize the designated parking area. We look forward to seeing you there!
The Teen Support Group is a nonprofit program designed to provide a safe and supportive space for teens in foster
care. We understand the unique challenges and experiences faced by these individuals and aim to offer assistance and resources to help them navigate their journey towards a brighter future.
Meetings: We meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month at Trinity Church, conveniently located at 50 White St,
Red Bank. This consistent schedule allows participants to anticipate and plan for these important gatherings. The
meetings take place from 6:30-7:30 pm. This one-hour session ensures that participants have ample time to
engage in meaningful discussions, activities, and support.
The Teen Support Group serves as an opportunity for teens in foster care to connect with others who may share
similar experiences. It offers a sense of belonging and promotes a supportive community.
Through our Learning Unique Values (LUV) Program, participants gain access to valuable resources that help
prepare them for their future. This includes workshops, educational materials, and guidance on important topics
such as life skills development, career exploration, and higher education opportunities.
By joining the Teen Support Group, participants have the chance to build lasting connections with peers who
understand their journey. These connections can provide a sense of camaraderie, emotional support, and
friendship that extends beyond the program's meetings.
Benefits of the Teen Support Group include:
1. Emotional Support: Participants can share their feelings, experiences, and challenges with others who can relate, creating a sense of understanding and empathy.
2. Peer Networking: The program facilitates opportunities for teens to connect, helping them build a network of
support and friendship that extends beyond the support group setting.
3. Personal Growth: Through the LUV Program, participants gain valuable life skills, knowledge, and resources, empowering them to navigate their future with confidence.
4. Community Engagement: The Teen Support Group fosters a sense of belonging and community among teens in foster care, providing them with a platform to be heard and supported.
5. Positive Impact: By engaging in the program, teens can enhance their overall well-being, increase self-esteem,
and develop a positive outlook on their future.
6. Safe Environment: The program offers a safe and nonjudgmental space for participants to express themselves, ask questions, and seek advice without fear of stigma or discrimination.
The Teen Support Group strives to make a difference in the lives of teens in foster care by offering support,
resources, and opportunities for personal growth. We believe that every teen deserves a chance to thrive and
build a bright future, and we are here to help them on their journey.
